The obverse of the colorful coin depicts a dramatic moment that forever changed Bödvar’s fate. The warrior, bound in chains, stands helpless before a powerful attacker, while his wife Astrid dies on her knees amidst the flames consuming their village. The carefully chosen colors give the scene a new dimension – fire, emotion and tension fill every part of the relief. From Astrid’s last words, Bödvar learns that their daughter Sunneva has been kidnapped. Crushed by loss, but also consumed by growing fury, he swears to find his child and sets out on a relentless journey for justice.
On the reverse, the sacred mountain Thorbjørn is the central motif. The monumental rock massif is shaped like a roaring bear, symbolizing strength and divine power. The Sowilo rune is carved on its forehead. Waterfalls flow from the mouth of the stone bear, feeding the rivers at its base. The outer ring of the coin forms a magical runic circle.
The coin comes with a certificate of authenticity and a box.
