The portrait used in years 1968 - 1984 on the reverse of the coin has been remastered by Gordon Summers, Chief Engraver at The Royal Mint The reverse has been engraved with radial lines that catch the light when the coin is turned to create an aura of elegance and permanence.
Accompanied by bespoke packaging that explores the story behind the portrait originally designed by Arnold Machin .
The obverse of the coin features the official coinage portrait of His Majesty King Charles III, uniting mother and son on the coins of the realm
Dated 2026, the centenary year of Elizabeth II’s birth , struck in 925 sterling silver and finished to Proof standard
