After the 500 coins left The Royal Canadian Mint, a team of independent artisans carefully took each coin and expertly applied a selective layer of 24 carat gold to each side. The result of their work highlights the key elements of the coin, while preserving the intricate details.

However, gold is not the only addition to this masterpiece! The rest of the coin is coated with a layer of black ruthenium.
