The Paris Mint celebrates the 120th anniversary of the death of the famous science fiction novelist Jules Verne. The collection includes coins with motifs from his greatest works, as well as a portrait of the writer himself.

On the obverse of this coin, a shell stands on the left, a reference to From the Earth to the Moon. On the right, the entire team observes the moon from their orbiting shell, this time a reference to Around the Moon. Among them are Impey Barbicane, Michel Ardan (anagram of Nadar, a friend of Jules Verne), Captain Nicholl, the dog Diane, as well as one of the chickens on board the spacecraft. The titles From the Earth to the Moon and Around the Moon are in the center, the author's name is placed in the moon and the year at the bottom.
The delivery of the coin is in a capsule, box and together with a certificate of authenticity.
