The Paris Mint celebrates the 120th anniversary of the death of the famous science fiction novelist Jules Verne. The collection includes coins with motifs from his greatest works, as well as a portrait of the writer himself.

On the obverse of this coin, an imposing prehistoric monster sits in the foreground. In the background, Professor Otto Lidenbrock carefully observes the horizon. In the center, the raft sailing on the “Lindenbrock Sea” almost collides with two sea creatures in full duel. The characters of this fiction, evolving in a mineral universe, are represented on the right. On the left, a reference to the runic characters that guided the adventurers to the entrance to the Sneffels Volcano is inscribed in a giant mushroom. In the background stands the Italian volcano Stromboli through which explorers emerge from the center of the Earth. The title of the work is in the center of the coin, and the year and name of the author at the bottom.
The delivery of the coin is in a capsule, box and together with a certificate of authenticity.
